Jorge Lourenço was born in Póvoa de Varzim in 1990. He lives and works in Porto. Bachelor in Painting by the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto, has received a scolarship from the Erasmus mobility Program in Latvijas Mākslas Akadēmija, Riga. His work defies the guaranteed and inviolable concepts of conventional painting, through a subtle juggling between aspects such as the canvas, frame shape or color. The consequences of this kind of speech approach the work to a transcendent barrier, although it is a dubious transcendent. He expresses himself mainly through painting and sculpture, showing occasionally since 2011. He’s apparently shy.
